Matlock
A clean and spacious apartment at a very good price. The host provided detailed instructions on locating the lock box and accessing the property. Given the provision of a cooker and microwave, we brought our own food and enjoyed a pleasant, relaxed evening meal at the table overlooking the lights by the river. The apartment provided a convenient base for travelling on into the Peak District the next morning after a good night's sleep. We found there was plenty of free overnight parking (after 6pm) on the road right by the apartment.
Baslow
Lovely room with a comfy bed, modern updated bathroom with one of the best hotel showers I have ever had. The room was spacious and decorated so nice! It felt cozy and luxurious. We loved the breakfast. You could tell it was made with love. Bonus that the food was all sourced from local farms in the area. Such an amazing value for a really unique experience. The property manager was kind, helpful, and check-in/ out was so easy! The property was in close proximity to Chatsworth house. Must stay location in the Peak District.
Very quiet but central to city centre and Eccelshall road where there are cafes, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets. The Botanical gardens are just across the road with glasshouses as well as the cemetery gardens and it’s amazing history. You can walk, cycle or run from Endcliffe park just up the road to the Peak District. We were worried we would miss the TV but there is so much to do in the area you just don’t. The apartment has been beautifully furnished in the period it was built and is very cosy.
The Hotel is brand new, which is pretty rare considering it's in the heart of the peak district. However it is very nicely built and fits with it's surroundings nicely. There is plenty of parking, a great restaurant, space to relax and play boardgames. And lots of dogs. If you are not a dog person I'd stay elsewhere. Facilities for washing and storing your bike was great and saved the car from being covered in mud on the way home.
We stayed in Lee Wood Hotel for four nights. The hotel was situated in lovely grounds overlooking the cricket ground and the bowling green. The room was very clean with a lovely bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The 'Lazy Gardener' dining room was a lovely place to have breakfast and dinner and the food was excellent. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Peak District.
Exceptional value. The room was clean and had a kettle with tea & coffee. Clean bathroom with a powerful shower. Being in a separate building behind the pub it was very quiet. Perfect location for an overnight stay as we wanted to get to Hardwick Hall (10 miles SE) and the Peak District. Manager was friendly. We didn't eat in so can't comment on the pub or breakfast.
Buxton
The apartment and Hall is a beautiful place to stay. The apartments are spacious and are really comfortable. Ours had everything we needed and made the stay feel like we were home but with the added benefit of the Peak District being a stones throw away. The communication from Anthony was excellent, before and after our trip. Extremely accommodating.
I had a great stay in the bunk room. Really nice staying in an only a 2 person shared room compared to a larger hostel. Everything was clean and comfortable. Multiple pillows and blankets and towels provided for free. Very close to public transportation to the Peak District. I would recommend and would stay again if in Macclesfield again.
The location is great for the Monsal trail. I thought the apartment was a perfect base for an adventurous weekend in the Peak district. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is great and the apartment is spacious for a couple of people. The hosts looked after our bikes when we weren't using them.

Fantastic stay in this lovely apartment. The hosts we're extremely friendly, the flat was absolutely spotless and the bed was enormous! Great location. Close to local pubs and shops and a great place to start a nice long walk in the peak district. We loved it.
Old Hall Hotel is in a pretty good location in the middle of the Peak District. Our rooms were great, the staff were fantastic, and we enjoyed the breakfast. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel as a place to stay if you're travelling through Hope.
Really nice room in a very nice hotel with great restaurant/ bar. Nice setting. Very clean. Very comfortable room - very large. Friendly staff made it a pleasant stay. We will stay in this hotel again when next visiting the Peak District for sure.
Lovely old fashioned hotel with spacious rooms and perfectly located for exploring the peak district. Breakfast is really good, good range of options available. Dog friendly which is brilliant and a lovely area where your pooch can sit with you for breakfast.
Perfect location for the peak district. Hotel room was immaculate, had the syr Richard room at the back, very peaceful. Stephanie the owner was very helpful, great knowledge of places to visit, described the walk we took down to a tee, even the angry goose!!
This was a great stay for our week in the Peak District. Staying in Buxton meant everything was just about 30 mins away. Having an apartment rather than a hotel stay was also much preferred. This was a great experience, thanks for providing such high quality!
•Dog friendly •Lovely cosy apartment •5 min walk to the local shops and park •20 min drive to the Peak District National Park •Easy to use heating and appliances •🅿️ parking bay opposite the front door -2 hours free during the day then free after 6.00pm
I liked everything about this hotel, the location was good for exploring the Peak District, and was easy to get to Sheffield and Chesterfield as well. The staff were very nice and helpful, excellent breakfast, and free parking and wi-fi.
A perfect Peak District overnight stay! Hotel is extremely dog friendly and the staff were excellent. The billings of Warslow is perfect for a quick stretch of the legs with your pup and the sun rise was a particular high point!
Sheffield
The apartment contained all the facilities and appliances needed (it even has a washing machine). The location is close to the beautiful nature of the Peak District, and is located opposite a super market for all your needs.
